MN Engineering Solutions delivered a fully automated, zero-touch re-shipper component unpacking system to replace a manual process feeding an assembly line. The objective was to eliminate human contact for improved hygiene, automate material handling, and implement a just-in-time supply model to the assembly area. Our engineering team conducted a comprehensive analysis of the existing process, mapped future-state workflows, and explored both off-the-shelf and custom automation solutions.
The system design incorporated depalletizing units, component unpacking modules, AGVs for material transport, and automated packaging waste compaction. Concept validation included physical trials to ensure system reliability and performance. The finalized concept was supported with detailed budgetary estimates to aid client decision-making. The result was a seamless, touch-free component delivery system that improved operational efficiency, reduced labour dependence, and achieved a projected return on investment in under 12 months.
MN Engineering Solutions was engaged by a Michigan-based special purpose machine manufacturer to support electrical design and panel engineering for a new product line due to the temporary unavailability of their internal team. Our scope included complete panel engineering built around a Rockwell Compact GuardLogix 5380 PLC system with Point Remote I/O and an additional Productivity 2000 motion PLC from Automation Direct, driving four servo systems.
Using EPLAN, MNES developed modular component models, enabled automatic wire numbering, and generated terminal charts for efficient documentation. Remote commissioning was supported via Ewon Cozy 205, ensuring seamless integration despite geographic separation. Working in close coordination with the client’s controls team, MNES delivered the complete machine schematics well ahead of the scheduled deadline, contributing to faster project execution and reduced downtime for the customer.
